About

Notice
Late opening on Friday night

This Friday the 18th of September we will not have any milk available during normal opening times in the shop. This is due to a significant increase in online and shop sales over the past 2 weeks. To put it simply, we have run out.

We will be open until 8pm and should have fresh raw milk available from 5:30pm.

Whilst we have been blown away by the support particularly online and in the shop recently, our girls just haven’t been able to keep up. The wetter weather has meant a sudden spurt of grass growth however this has had little nutritional value as it has more water in it than normal.

We have a few more cows to calve in the coming weeks so hopefully normal service will resume shortly.

About us

Cliftons Farm has been the home of the Parkinson family since 1967.  We are a family run farm which is situated in the picturesque village of Inglewhite.  We are 2 miles south of Beacon Fell Country Park, which is in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Although we are in the rural Lancashire countryside, we are still only about 7 miles from Preston city centre and only 4 miles from the motorway (M6, J32).

Cliftons Farm was the first certified organic family dairy farm in the north of England.

The farm is currently run by the youngest son Thomas Parkinson, together with his wife Iris.
Mr Parkinson senior, although retired still helps out occasionally.

What we do

Besides having a milking herd of certified organic Jersey cows. We use their milk to sell as raw milk, raw cream, raw butter, natural live yoghurt, cheese and ghee.
We also keep all our male calves for beef. We have our own butchery on site. This way our customers can order exactly the kind of cut they’d like to have when an animal is ready to go in.  We also keep organic free range hens for eggs.

We also have a fruit orchard where we grow some fruit from which we make fruit pots. They are delicious with our natural live yoghurt.

Any excess of fruit will be sold in our farm shop. We only sell items that are produced here on the farm. We do not buy in any items for re-sale.

We also have a local delivery service in some areas of the North West and a courier delivery service that covers England and Wales.

If you are interested in buying some of our products or if you want to know more about us,  you can contact us by phone or via our contact page. Please be aware that we might not always be in to take your call;

Our office hours are Sunday – Thursday 09:00 – 12:30

The farm shop is open 7 days a week 9AM – 5PM

As some of our products are seasonal or limited in availability it’s worth contacting us before coming to the farm. So we can get your order ready and update you with what we have in stock.

Please be aware that this is a working farm and although we will attend to you as soon as possible be prepared to wait a few minutes for us to serve you at busy times.
