Over the past few years the majority of our calves have been male. Since only females produce milk, we didn’t have enough animals to replace the older milking cows, making our milking herd smaller than our land can support.
But our luck seems to have changed! We will shortly have a group of young cows having their first calves and another group this summer/autumn. For the first time in nearly 10 years we will have the number of milking cows back up to its optimum.
This means we’ll soon be producing more milk than we have capacity for on our local delivery round.
In order to use this additional milk, we will be able to offer a new service to customers both inside and outside our existing delivery area – distributing fresh produce by courier in insulated boxes.
If you are on our waiting list for our local delivery the courier price may be a little bit more expensive, but it will enable us to accommodate you. (And it could still be cheaper than driving to the farm yourself.)
If you’re outside our local delivery area you’ll find our price is very competitive compared to other farms who deliver raw milk by courier.
Greater volume of deliveries makes our service more cost effective for everyone. Please spread the word to your friends and family who may be interested in our products.
