On the Farm
The weather has been good over the last few days, so it’s dried up enough for the Barley to be harvested. Of course there are more farmers out there that want the combine harvester for this purpose (we use contractors to do this for us), so we’re currently waiting “in the que” so to speak. Hopefully they’ll get to us this weekend and it’s still dry! We can then get our barley straw made as we’re nearly out!
Barley waiting for the combiner
The dry, hot weather in June / July meant fruit crops have failed. This means we haven’t been able to freeze any fruit for making fruit pots. For this reason our fruit pots are now out of stock. Probably until next year…We are proud to say we do not buy in produce to be able to sell a product all year round. It’s all purely seasonal and weather related. This way you can be sure what you buy from us, is produced here at Cliftons Farm.
I’m planning to make some more ice-cream soon. So more chocolate ice-cream coming soon!
