As you’ve probably heard, from 25 May 2018 the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has come into effect across all member states (which includes us). Basically it’s creating a single set of rules to modernize data privacy laws across Europe.

We’ve always taken the security of customer data very seriously, so it’s great to see things come into line with what we’ve always believed. You can see our privacy policy on our website. It’s full of information on how we use and protect your personal information, and your rights relating to this.

At the same time we’ve also published our terms and conditions on our website.

On the farm
Apart from me spending a lot of time in the office, we’ve also managed to get quite a bit of weeding done. The weather has been fantastic, which means the weeds also grow like stink! Luckily we’ve got some students staying with us, so they’ve been doing a fantastic job weeding our fruit bushes (gooseberries, raspberries and blackcurrants).

Tom and Will have been busy getting all our machinery ready for silageing (grass cutting for winter feed). They have also been sorting the silage wrap from last year ready for recycling. The grass is growing well and all the animals are enjoying this wonderful weather.

Evening walk
I sometimes like to go for a walk through our fields in an evening. Here are some photo’s from the walk.

Our young heifers having a nosey!

Our milking cows grazing after evening milking

Wild geese eating our freshly sown crops….And our veg plot at the front.

One of our milking cows (called “Stirky”) coming for a good scratch behind the ears!
