On the farm
We’ve had 5 calves that were ready for weaning. Now they no longer get milk they go into a communal pen. So we’re been sorting out the pens in the shed where the young stock lives during the winter months. We now have new pens ready for new born calves and the weaned calves are in a communal pen when they can run about!

Thomas has also been spending time looking at what vegetables we’ve been growing last year and this year, to see which ones did well and which ones didn’t. This is the time of year to order in seeds, seed potatoes and onion sets for next growing season.

We would love your feedback on the vegetables you’ve been getting from us. What did you think of them? And also, is there anything else that you would suggest we should try and grow at Cliftons Farm? For example, we tried growing Okra in our greenhouse this year, but sadly it failed as it’s just not warm enough in good old Lancashire! Maybe I’ll try again next year and hope for a warm summer!
