  • White onions

For quantities and prices please see our Seasonal page for more information.

On the farm
We’ve been busy on the farm with preparations for summer.

The compost for sowing seed arrived, so we’ve sown leeks, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, parsley and various different types of lettuce in heated cold frames.

Seeds sown, waiting to germinate in heated cold frames

Once they seedlings are strong enough they will move in to an unheated cold frame in the green house. After that, most of these plants will be planted in the greenhouse, except for the leeks. These will be planted outside in our veg plot. We’ve sown them already because they grow very slowly.

The greenhouse has also been made ready for another growing season. The soil has been weeded and loosened. We also applied a generous amount of bedding muck to feed the plants!

The green house, ready for another growing season!

We’ve also been busy in the fruit orchard. We’re currently pruning the fruit bushes (Raspberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants etc.) and they are also mucked with bedding muck so they get plenty of nutrition for bearing fruit this summer.

Farm shop
The cold room has been finished an is in full working order!
We’re just waiting for the floor to be put down in the shop/ packing area, but we have to wait with this until it’s a bit warmer, because at the moment it’s too cold to put the floor down. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.
