We’ve been making some more progress with the farm shop. The glass of the entrance doors is now in! It’s already a lot warmer inside which is great.
The doors that needed to be made and fitted have been done. We should also get the last bit of wall cladding done today.
Then it’s a waiting game, waiting for the people to finish the electrics to the cold room and getting the floor put in.
The floor might not be able to go in until it’s warmer weather, but fingers crossed it will be soon!
We’ve also been busy planning for the year ahead with regards to growing vegetables. We’ve received all our seed and are waiting for some organic compost to be delivered so we can start sowing some of the seeds in a heated coldframe. We do this to give them a head start and hopefully give a longer growing season.
Another job that’s to do yet is to weed the greenhouse which is now empty, followed by loading the soil beds with lots of cow manure as fertilizer.
Then we are ready to go!
We’re hoping to grow some cabbages this year. Being organic it can be difficult because slugs, snails and caterpillars love them!
