On the farm
We’ve been busy harvesting all our onions. We’re about half way now. The onions we’ve got up have been put to dry in the greenhouse. It looks like it’s going to be interesting fitting them all in the greenhouse! (see picture below)

Tom has also been making more silage for winter feed. The yard is starting to look  nice and full with this lovely winter feed. This is such a good feeling for us, knowing we’ll make it through the winter with enough to feed our cows!
There is one more field to silage and 2 more fields with oats which are nearly ready.  Weather permitting we’ll get the combine harvester to come to harvest the oats next week.

We’re also hoping to move some young stock (calves) onto new pasture because they are running low on grass where they are at the moment. They will be moving to the field that has just been cut for silage, but there will be plenty left to eat for them in here. If the weather stays dry they will be moving house tomorrow morning!

There has been some more progress with alterations, and working towards building our farm shop. Today the vacuum pump for the milking machine has been moved out of the barn, which will become the shop. It was right next to the office as well. This means that it’s no longer noisy when I’m on the phone with some one during milking time!
